VAL THORENS, France -- Canadas Marielle Thompson can rest easy knowing that she has locked up a spot for Sochi. Air Max 270 Sale Outlet . Teammates Kelsey Serwa, Dave Duncan and Brady Leman are virtual locks to join her. As for the rest of the Canadians on the deep national skicross team, they have a long, anxious weekend of waiting ahead of them. The Olympic qualification window for skicross closes Sunday, so Fridays race served as the last chance for Canadians to qualify for nomination. The 26-athlete freestyle team roster for the Winter Games will be announced Monday. Skicross is one of five disciplines that fall under the freestyle umbrella so inclusion could be tough. There are several World Cup events scheduled for this weekend so it remains unclear who will make the cut. "Im sure a lot of (the athletes) will have empty stomachs depending on where they sit on that bubble," Canada Ski Cross director Dave Ellis said on a conference call. "Depending whos in the rankings behind them and how they perform, thats going to make a difference for sure." Thompson, from Whistler, B.C., won gold Friday at the FIS Audi Val Thorens World Cup to extend her lead atop the womens overall standings. "I didnt really feel anyone too close to me today," she said. Duncan, from London, Ont., moved back on top of the mens standings with a bronze medal. Leman, from Calgary, took fourth place and Montreal resident Chris Del Bosco was fifth. "The competition from within the team is what drives the success, so its fun," said head coach Eric Archer. Del Bosco won gold in the first of back-to-back races a day earlier. The race was cut short due to high winds so the veteran skier was given top spot due to his strong performance in the qualifications and first heat. Del Bosco, who finished fourth at the 2010 Games in Vancouver, has struggled this season. He had not cracked the top 10 until this week and it remains to be seen whether he has done enough to get a spot on the Sochi nomination list. "I did pretty much everything I could this weekend to give myself a shot," Del Bosco said. "At the end of the day thats all I can really do." Danielle Sundquist of Calgary and Georgia Simmerling of West Vancouver, B.C., are also on the bubble. Sundquist finished fifth on Friday and Simmerling was seventh. Serwa skipped Fridays race. The qualification process is very complicated. Athletes from slopestyle, aerials, moguls and halfpipe will also be included on the freestyle team and Canada is strong in all of those events. Of the 26 spots available in the five disciplines, there can be no more than 14 selections from either gender. The selection committee will look at results from previous years but performances this season have the biggest impact. The depth of the national skicross team and the Canadian freestyle team as a whole leaves athletes who are on the bubble in a tough spot. Some very talented competitors simply arent going to make the cut. Adidas NMD Clearance Sale . Henderson (20-3) received winning scores of 48-47 and 49-46, and the other judge scored it 48-47 for Thomson (20-6). The announcement drew boos from the United Center crowd. "Train this hard for this long, its such a long camp and I see my title shot disappear," said Thomson, who fought most of the fight with a broken right hand. Adidas Ultra Boost Outlet . There is no argument that the line of Pacioretty, David Desharnais and Thomas Vanek was one of the hottest in the NHL leading into the post-season, and they did combine for three goals and seven points, but it was the depth of all four lines that helped propel Montreal.(SportsNetwork.com) - The red-hot Detroit Pistons will try to keep their momentum going Saturday night when they welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to The Palace of Auburn Hills. Detroit has won three of its last four, but the bigger picture paints a story of broader success. Since releasing Josh Smith on Dec. 22, the Pistons are 10-2 and have won seven in a row on the road. At home has been a different story as the Pistons have dropped two of their last three. Detroit earned a gritty, 98-96 road victory over their Central Division rivals, the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. Andre Drummond turned defense into offense for the Pistons. Drummond took a charge from Roy Hibbert with 23.9 seconds left and then tipped in the winning shot with 0.3 seconds remaining. Brandon Jennings led the way with a season-high 37 points for Detroit. He went 8-of-13 from 3-point range and made all nine of his foul shots. Drummond had 16 points and 16 rebounds, while Greg Monroe scored 11 and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 10. Hibbert lowered his shoulder into Drummond, who drew the charge. Then, Jennings drove to the left of the lane and missed as his shot was altered by a leaping Hibbert. Drummond, though, converted the tip-in. My main thing was to take it to the rim, 23 seconds left, definitely get the last shot, Jennings said. If anything, get a high floater and if I missed it I know Dre or somebody could be there to tip it in. Thats just a play that me and Dre have in our heads. The seven-game road win streakk equals the mark set Jan. Air Max 97 Cheap. 18 - Feb. 22, 2002. The Sixers are somewhat hot themselves, although not quite at the level of the Pistons. Philly has won three of its last five, including a 96-81 home victory over the short-handed New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. The win was the Sixers first double-digit triumph of the season. Nerlens Noel and Michael Carter-Williams filled the stat sheet against the short-handed Pelicans, who were without both Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday on Friday. Davis sat with a sprained left toe he suffered in Wednesdays win over Detroit and Holiday, the former Sixer, missed a second game with right ankle inflammation. Noel had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks and Carter-Williams scored 22 with seven assists and six rebounds, but neither had to contend with two of the Pelicans best players. We feel good, said Noel. Coaches have been doing a great job making sure we have our legs under us. Robert Covington scored 18 points and Luc Mbah a Moute had 13 for the Sixers, who entered the game on a two-game skid after falling to Eastern Conference division leaders Atlanta and Toronto. The Sixers took care of the ball, going nearly two quarters without turning it over during one stretch. Their 19-point lead in the fourth quarter was a season-best and they went wire-to-wire for the win. The Sixers beat the Pistons in The Palace on Dec. 6 and have taken two straight in this series. Detroit had won the previous four before the two-game slide. ' ' '
