LeBron James will not travel to Memphis for Clevelands only appearance there this season and hes offering no apologies for it.Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue left behind James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love for Wednesdays rematch of the home-and-home series against the Grizzlies.Irving was fighting tired legs in the Cavs win Saturday, so Lue elected to give him a full week off between games. James and Love will also stay home to rest, severely crippling the roster of the defending champions lone trip to Memphis. My coach wants me to rest, I dont buck my coach. Thats what he wants and thats what were gonna do, James said after the Cavs beat the Grizzlies 103-86 on Tuesday in Cleveland. Ive been in this league 14 years. I shouldnt have to explain me sitting out a game or not playing games.Ive played in every arena, including Seattle thats no longer here. Its not like its my first year. Ive got 14 years. Ive paid my dues and more than a lot of guys in this league. But Ill ride with my coach. With all three stars sitting, Lue said he would start DeAndre Liggins, Iman Shumpert and James Jones alongside regular starters J.R. Smith and Tristan Thompson. Lue couldve broken up the rest and sat James or Love for the home game and played one of them on the road, but instead decided to push all in to give the Cavs the best possible chance to win at least one of these two games. Were home to play in front of our fans. With two of the Big Three I know we can win that game, Lue said. It will be hard to go down and travel, and to ask one person to try to carry the team, especially the way our offense runs. The Grizzlies wont complain about the lack of stars on the other side. They rested All-Star center Marc Gasol, the reigning Western Conference player of the week, for similar reasons during Tuesdays loss, which ended their six-game winning streak. Gasol is expected to play Wednesday. This was kind of marked on the calendar for a while, Grizzlies coach David Fizdale said. We knew this stretch was coming with this back-to-back and we were going to have to make some decisions. The Grizzlies will likely be without rookie center Deyonta Davis, who injured his left foot Tuesday and did not return. Fizdale said he doesnt believe the injury is serious, but Davis will likely miss some time as a result. The decisions by both franchises to rest their stars will exacerbate the league-wide debate about how teams are handling back-to-back scenarios. The league is working proactively to eliminate as many as possible, but for now, teams continue to respond the way the Cavs and Grizzlies did this week. Lue said he expects those who are playing to compete. This is where guys get a chance to get some extended minutes and see how they really are, he said. If they can crack the rotation or, if we need them, can they play? For me its just giving other guys opportunities. Garrett Stubbs Jersey . He just needed to be his best twisting, turning acrobatic self. "I didnt need to be anybody else, I just needed to be myself and be aggressive," said Burks, who scored a career-high 34 points to spark the Utah Jazz to a 118-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. Justin Verlander Jersey .C. -- Todd Fiddler scored a hat trick, including the overtime goal, as the Prince George Cougars survived an 8-7 win against the Kamloops Blazers in Western Hockey League play Sunday. RALEIGH, N.C. -- A big comeback win has the Carolina Hurricanes on a three-game winning streak and a point-a-game pace for the season.Victor Rask had a goal and an assist in Carolinas three-goal third period as the Hurricanes rallied for a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night.Jeff Skinner and Teuvo Teravainen also scored for the Hurricanes (6-6-4) during their outburst over a 5-minute, 50-second span of third period. Ron Hainsey had two assists and Cam Ward stopped 31 shots. Its a big lift, Hainsey said of the comeback. Obviously we were outplayed through two (periods). We just had a hard time keeping much in their zone. Being able to claw one out in the third period -- maybe you dont deserve it the way the bulk of the game went, but its certainly something well take.Jeff Petry and Andrew Shaw scored for league-leading Montreal. Al Montoya finished with 15 saves.Montoya was playing in the building, now known as PNC Arena, which was the site of the 2004 draft in which he was the first-round pick by the New York Rangers. We played a really good road game, Monreal coach Michel Therrien said. Youre on the road and give up 18 shots, you usually win those types of hockey games. I think the effort was there. But you need puck luck, and we didnt have the puck luck they did.Montreal outshot Carolina 9-4 in a scoreless first period, and then had a 12-4 advantage in the second as they took a 1-0 lead.Petry scored with 5:41 left in the period as his shot from the right circle went into the open glove side of the net. The goal stood up after a Carolina coachs challenge for goalie interference, with the ruling that Hurricanes defenseman Noah Hanifin had checked Daniel Carr into Ward with the goalie falling off his skates.Skinner tied it at 3:12 of the third, redirecting Hainseys bllast from the left point off his left skate and past Montoya glove side.ddddddddddddCarolina then took the lead at 7:43, as Teravainen deflected Hainseys rocket from the high slot past Montoya. This is a good league, Carolina coach Bill Peters said. Theres not many nights when youre playing a team that isnt any good. And you have to have a healthy respect for everybody in the league. But if were beating good teams, thats got to put us in that category at some point. And it went to 3-1 at 9:02, as Rask scored on a wrister from the right circle on a centering pass from Elias Lindholm.Weve been having good goaltending, and its certainly always good to have that on your back, said Rask, who shares the team scoring lead with Skinner with seven goals and 14 points. And were scoring a lot of goals now. We didnt play our best in the beginning, but we stuck with our game plan. Were beating some of the best teams in the league now, and were feeling good.Shaw cut the margin to 3-2 with 4:31 left.Game notes The contest was the first of the teams three-game season series.
