CARSON, Calif. -- U.S. national team captain Carlos Bocanegra signed Monday with Chivas USA of MLS. The centre back who spent last season with Racing Santander of Spain, where he was on loan from Scottish side Rangers FC, will join Chivas USA in Philadelphia to prepare for a July 12 match against the Union. He becomes eligible to play for Chivas USA on July 9 when the international transfer window opens. "It feels really good to be coming back home," the 34-year-old Bocanegra said. "Ive been following MLS a lot more closely this year, and I got my start here in the league, so Im excited to seeing personally how much the league has grown." Chivas USA traded a first-round draft pick in 2014 and an international roster spot to Toronto FC, which owned the first shot at acquiring Bocanegra. Bocanegra has played 116 games for the United States, including World Cups in 2006 and 2010. He began his professional career with the Chicago Fire and was 2000 MLS Rookie of the Year. In January 2004, Bocanegra moved to Europe, joining English Premier League team Fulham, where he spent four years. He then went to France, playing for Rennes and Saint Etienne before joining Rangers. Despite being sidelined for a month with a left hamstring injury suffered while on national team duty last November, Bocanegra became a solid defender for Racing, starting in all 23 games played for the Spanish team. Rangers did not renew his contract when the loan ended, freeing Bocanegra to return to MLS. Chivas USA has the leagues worst defence, allowing 31 goals in going 3-10-3, last in the Western Conference. "Im very excited to join the club," Bocanegra said. "I know its going to be a big challenge because the club hasnt been getting the greatest results on the field, but its something Im looking forward to." Air Force 1 Uomo Saldi .ca! Hi Kerry, Heres an interesting one. I know its common knowledge that all players are responsible for their sticks. We witnessed that when Zack Kassian hit Edmontons Sam Gagner in the face after a missed check. Air Force 1 Sp Italia . Radwanska, making her debut in the Seoul tournament, hit eight aces in a match that lasted 1 hour, 4 minutes at Olympic Park tennis stadium. "It was definitely a very good match -- I was playing really good tennis," Radwanska said. http://www.airforce1outletitalia.it/scontate-air-force-1-alte-bianche.html . -- The St. Johns IceCaps weathered a wild first period with the help of goaltender Jussi Olkinuora, before finding offensive inroads in the second. Air Force 1 Low Italia . While hell be dialed in to that tournament on a course he loves, you can forgive him if his eyes glance down the calendar just a bit, towards April. Air Force 1 Alte Flax . The nimble-footed quarterback got his wish, dashing through the snow and a weary defence all the way into the NCAA record book. SAN DIEGO -- The longer he pitched, the stronger San Diego Padres left-hander Christian Friedrich got.And it just happened to be against his original team, the Colorado Rockies.Friedrich matched his career-high with 10 strikeouts in seven brilliant innings to win for the first time since June 23, leading the Padres to a 6-3 victory against the Rockies on Saturday night.Friedrich (5-10), the Rockies first-round draft pick in 2008, allowed two hits and walked one. He retired his final 13 batters and 19 of 20.Obviously, Id be lying if I said it didnt feel good to pitch well against them, Friedrich said. The Rockies got a runner into scoring position against Friedrich just once, when Carlos Gonzalez doubled with two outs in the first and advanced on a wild pitch. Nolan Arenado walked before Friedrich got Tom Murphy to fly out to left. The Rockies only other baserunner against Friedrich was DJ LeMahieu, who lined a comebacker off Friedrichs left leg for a single in the third..Its DJ, so it was really pretty funny to see him at first trying to smile at me. It was fine. It caught a lot of meat, Friedrich said.Friedrich has dominated in two starts against the Rockies this year. On June 12, he got a no-decision after holding them to one run and two hits in six innings, with nine strikeouts.Hes been tough on us a couple of times, manager Walt Weiss said. He had a good angle on his fastball. Thats one of his keys. Good breaking ball, the curveball and the slider. We couldnt figure him out.Friedrich really settled in, Padres manager Andy Green said. First inning he labored, fought just to keep them off the board.... He pretty much sailed through the next six.Green said he had some debate about sending Friedrich back out for the eighth. But it was getting kind of where we are with paying attenntion to his innings and trying to put him in a position to be successful in the future.dddddddddddd We thought it was best to cut him at seven.Friedrich had lost each of his last decisions during his previous 11 starts. His last victory was at Cincinnati on June 23.Brandon Maurer pitched the ninth for his ninth save. The Padres piled on against Jon Gray (9-8), taking a 6-0 lead after two innings and chasing him after four.Yangervis Solarte hit an RBI single in the first and a two-run double during the five-run second. His second-inning double followed a two-run double by Wil Myers that went over left fielder David Dahls head and bounced into the stands.Gray allowed six runs on eight hits. He struck out three and walked three.Gray was kind of searching for his slider tonight, Weiss aid. He was doing all right otherwise. It was a battle for him. He never really got locked in. He didnt have his `A slider. Just an off night. Nothing physically or anything like that. The Rockies scored three unearned runs in the eighth after shortstop Luis Sardinas booted Mark Reynolds grounder. Gonzalez had a two-run single.TRAINERS ROOMPadres: Friedrich was hit near his left knee by a comebacker by LeMahieu in the third inning. After being checked by a trainer and manager Andy Green, he stayed in the game.UP NEXTRockies: Chad Bettis (12-7, 4.88) is scheduled to start the finale of the four-game series.
